Der Zaun im Kopf
Ein Zaun steht wirklich da. Doch die Grenze, die er markiert, entsteht in unseren Köpfen. Beim Radeln durch die Felder frage ich mich, was noch auf diese Weise Wirklichkeit wird: Eigentum, Nationen, Religionen – und unsere Vorstellungen von Liebe. Vielleicht liegt das Problem nicht darin, dass wir Menschen Sinn erschaffen, sondern darin, dass wir vergessen, dass wir ihn erschaffen.
A fence is physically real. But the boundary it marks arises in our minds. Cycling through the fields, I began to wonder what else becomes real in this way: property, nations, religions — and even our ideas about love. Perhaps the problem is not that we humans create meaning, but that we forget that we created it.
