Ein neues Nepal: Wenn Jugend handelt – und die Politik loslässt
13. September 2025 – In nur 24 Stunden hat Nepals Jugend eindrucksvoll demonstriert, wie Demokratie neu belebt werden kann: nicht durch leere Worte, sondern durch entschlossenes Handeln. Was politische Parteien jahrelang verschleppten, setzte eine dezentrale Bewegung in Gang – getragen von der Kraft der sozialen Medien und einer Kultur der praktischen Hilfe, die seit dem verheerenden Erdbeben 2015 gewachsen ist.
Der Wendepunkt: Hungerstreik im Präsidentenpalast
Gestern ereignete sich der Moment, der alles veränderte. Sudan Gurung von Hami Nepal weigerte sich, den Präsidentenpalast Shital Niwas zu verlassen. Er begann einen Ansan – einen Hungerstreik. Mit fester Stimme erklärte er: „Ich bleibe hier, bis die Jugend mit dem Präsidenten reden darf.“ Während der Präsident mit Drohungen reagierte, handelte die Jugend entschlossen. Still, radikal, unübersehbar.
Warum Hami Nepal Glaubwürdigkeit hat
Hami Nepal ist keine politische Partei. Die Organisation entstand nach dem Erdbeben 2015 und hat seither unermüdlich Decken verteilt, Notunterkünfte gebaut und Kranke mit Sauerstoff versorgt. Sie hat über Jahre hinweg bewiesen: Sie handelt, während andere nur reden. Sie arbeitet ohne Hierarchie, offen und transparent. Darin liegt ihre Autorität. In Krisenzeiten vertraut man denen, die praktisch helfen.
Soziale Medien sind für sie kein Schaufenster, sondern ein Werkzeug: Freiwillige organisieren, Informationen prüfen, Proteste koordinieren. Gestern bedeutete das: Bleiben. Fasten. Gehört werden. Türen, die Worten standhielten, öffneten sich vor Taten.
Fasten als Botschaft
In Nepal hat der Hungerstreik Tradition. Ärzte wie Dr. Govinda K.C. haben ihn oft genutzt, um Korruption anzuprangern. Auch die Jugend greift auf diese Form des Protests zurück. Ein Hungerstreik bedeutet hier: Ich setze meinen Körper als Argument ein. Ich verzichte, um das ganze Land zum Zuhören zu zwingen.
In buddhistischer Sicht ist Fasten kein Selbstmord, sondern Reinigung. Man lässt Angst und Begierde los. Hermeneutisch gedeutet sagt die Jugend: Wahre Macht liegt nicht im Festhalten, sondern im Loslassen. Nicht Herrschaft zählt, sondern Verantwortung. Dieser stille Akt beendete das Zögern der Politik.
Ein Vorbild für die Welt
In vielen Ländern rückt die Politik nach rechts, Demokratien erlahmen. Nepal zeigt das Gegenbild: eine Jugend, die Verantwortung übernimmt. Sie wartet nicht, sie handelt. Praktisch, dezentral, solidarisch. Das ist mehr als Protest – es ist gelebte Praxis.
Andere Jugendbewegungen haben Ähnliches gezeigt: Fridays for Future in Europa, Proteste in Hongkong, Demokratiebewegungen im Sudan. Doch oft wurden sie niedergeschlagen. Nepal beweist: Wenn Jugend nicht spaltet, sondern verbindet, kann sie Demokratie erneuern.
Fazit: Der Präsident drohte mit Worten. Die Jugend antwortete mit Taten. Aus Verzicht wurde Autorität. So beginnt ein neues Kapitel – in Nepal, und vielleicht auch bei uns.

A New Nepal: When Youth Act—and Politics Steps Aside
13 September 2025 — In just 24 hours, Nepal’s youth demonstrated how democracy can be reborn: not with empty words, but with determined action. What political parties delayed for years, a decentralized movement set in motion—powered by social media and by a culture of practical service that has grown since the devastating 2015 earthquake.
The Turning Point: Hunger Strike at the Presidential Palace
Yesterday marked the moment that changed everything. Sudan Gurung of Hami Nepal refused to leave Shital Niwas, the presidential palace. He began an ansan—a hunger strike. With a steady voice he declared: “I will stay here until the youth are allowed to speak with the President.” While the President responded with threats, the youth acted decisively. Quietly, radically, unmistakably.
Why Hami Nepal Has Authority
Hami Nepal is not a political party. Born in the aftermath of the 2015 earthquake, the group has since distributed blankets, built shelters, and delivered oxygen to the sick. Year after year, it has proven one thing: it acts while others talk. It works without hierarchy, openly and transparently. That is its authority. In a crisis, people trust those who serve directly.
For them, social media is not a showcase but a tool: to organize volunteers, check information, and coordinate protests. Yesterday, it meant one thing: Stay. Fast. Be heard. Doors that resisted words opened in the face of action.
Fasting as a Message
In Nepal, hunger strikes have a long tradition. Doctors like Dr. Govinda K.C. have often used them to expose corruption. Today’s youth take up the same method. A hunger strike here means: I put my body forward as an argument. I renounce in order to force the nation to listen.
From a Buddhist perspective, fasting is not destruction but purification. It is letting go of fear and attachment. Hermeneutically, the youth say: True power lies not in clinging, but in releasing. Not in domination, but in responsibility. This silent act ended political hesitation.
A Model for the World
In many countries politics drifts to the right, democracies weaken. Nepal shows the opposite: youth stepping up to take responsibility. They do not wait; they act. Practical, decentralized, and in solidarity. This is more than protest—it is lived practice.
Other youth movements have shown similar strength: Fridays for Future in Europe, protests in Hong Kong, pro-democracy campaigns in Sudan. Yet too often they were crushed. Nepal proves that when youth connect instead of divide, they can renew democracy.
Conclusion: The President threatened with words. The youth answered with deeds. Out of renunciation came authority. A new chapter begins—in Nepal, and perhaps for us as well.

१३ सेप्टेम्बर २०२५ — केवल २४ घण्टामा नेपालका युवाले देखाए, लोकतन्त्र कसरी पुनर्जीवित गर्न सकिन्छ: खाली शब्दले होइन, दृढ कामले। जुन कुरा राजनीतिक दलहरूले वर्षौँसम्म ढिलाइ गरे, त्यो एउटा विकेन्द्रित आन्दोलनले अघि बढायो—सामाजिक सञ्जालको शक्तिले र २०१५ को भूकम्पपछि विकसित भएको व्यावहारिक सेवाको संस्कृतिले।
टर्निङ पोइन्ट: राष्ट्रपति भवनमा अनशन
हिजो सब कुरा परिवर्तन गर्ने क्षण आयो। सुदन गुरुङ (हामी नेपाल) ले शीतल निवास छोड्न अस्वीकार गरे। उनले अनशन सुरु गरे। दृढ स्वरमा भने: “म यहाँ रहन्छु, जबसम्म युवालाई राष्ट्रपति सँग बोल्ने अधिकार दिइँदैन।” राष्ट्रपति धम्की दिँदै थिए, तर युवाले सीधा काम गरे। शान्त, कट्टरपन्थी, स्पष्ट।
हामी नेपाल किन विश्वासिलो छ
हामी नेपाल कुनै राजनीतिक पार्टी होइन। २०१५ को भूकम्पपछि जन्मिएको यो संस्थाले कम्बल बाँड्यो, अस्थायी बासस्थान बनायो, बिरामीलाई अक्सिजन पुर्यायो। वर्षौंदेखि उसले प्रमाणित गरिरहेको छ: अरूले बोल्छन्, उनीहरूले काम गर्छन्। बिना पदक्रम, खुला र पारदर्शी ढंगले। यही हो उनको अधिकार। संकटमा मानिसहरूले त्यहीँलाई विश्वास गर्छन्, जसले व्यावहारिक मद्दत गर्छ।
सामाजिक सञ्जाल उनीहरूका लागि प्रदर्शन होइन, उपकरण हो: स्वयंसेवकलाई संगठित गर्न, सूचना जाँच्न, विरोध समन्वय गर्न। हिजो यसको अर्थ थियो: बसिरहनु। उपवास गर्नु। सुन्न लगाउनु। शब्दले रोकेका ढोका कामले खुले।
उपवास सन्देशको रूपमा
नेपालमा अनशनको लामो परम्परा छ। डा. गोविन्द के.सी. जस्ता चिकित्सकहरूले यसलाई प्रायः भ्रष्टाचार देखाउन प्रयोग गरेका छन्। आजका युवाले त्यही विधि अपनाए। अनशनको अर्थ यहाँ यस्तो छ: म आफ्नो शरीरलाई तर्कको रूपमा प्रस्तुत गर्छु। मैले त्याग गर्छु, ताकि राष्ट्रले सुन्नुपरोस्।
बौद्ध दृष्टिले, उपवास आत्मविनाश होइन, शुद्धि हो। यसले डर र मोह छोडाउँछ। व्याख्यात्मक रूपमा, युवाले भन्छन्: साँचो शक्ति समातेर होइन, छोडेर आउँछ। प्रभुत्व होइन, जिम्मेवारी हो। यही मौन कार्यले राजनीतिक हिचकिचाहट अन्त्य गर्यो।
विश्वका लागि एक नमूना
धेरै देशहरूमा राजनीति दायाँ तिर सर्दैछ, लोकतन्त्र कमजोर हुँदैछ। नेपालले विपरीत देखायो: युवाले जिम्मेवारी लिएका छन्। उनीहरू पर्खिँदैनन्; उनीहरू काम गर्छन्। व्यावहारिक, विकेन्द्रित, एकतामा। यो केवल विरोध होइन—यो बाँचिएको अभ्यास हो।
अन्य युवा आन्दोलनहरूले पनि यस्तो शक्ति देखाए: युरोपमा फ्राइडेज फॉर फ्यूचर, हङकङमा आन्दोलन, सुडानमा लोकतन्त्र अभियान। तर धेरैलाई दमन गरियो। नेपालले प्रमाणित गर्यो: जब युवाले विभाजन होइन, एकता ल्याउँछन्, उनीहरूले लोकतन्त्र पुनर्जीवित गर्न सक्छन्।
निष्कर्ष: राष्ट्रपतिले शब्दले धम्की दिए। युवाले कामले जवाफ दिए। त्यागबाट अधिकार जन्मियो। नयाँ अध्याय सुरु भयो—नेपालमा, र सायद हामीकहाँ पनि।
